Mrs. Ryan's Weekly Message

Dear Eanes Elementary Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed a safe and relaxing three-day weekend.  Our staff returned on Tuesday well rested and ready to dive into learning with your Mustangs!

EE had a successful back to school night on Tuesday evening, and we loved welcoming our new and returning families into your new, 2017-18 classrooms!  Our teachers shared that parents were so kind, supportive, and uplifting!  Thank you, EE Families, for loving our teachers!

Westlake High School has embraced a program out of Stanford University called "Challenge Success", sending teams of WHS teachers, students, and administrators out to the West Coast to explore ways to best support and serve students within Eanes ISD.  As a district, we believe that creating a student-centered learning environment while engaging in high levels of social emotional learning is critical to student growth and outcomes.

Challenge Success sends out a newsletter out to subscribers, and I felt compelled to share this week's message about how to best support our children as we begin the new year.  Here is link for the Top Ten Back-to-School Tips to Help Your Child Thrive from Challenge Success: http://www.challengesuccess.org/parents/back-school-tips/. One of my favorites was Tip #4: "Make time for PDF: playtime, downtime, family time. Research shows PDF is critical for overall well-being."

We hope you'll take time this weekend to enjoy some P-D-F with your child(ren)!  At Eanes Elementary, We Can, & We Will Be Somebody Who Makes Everybody Feel Like Somebody!

Thanks for a great week!

Lesley Ryan

Approval will lower District's total tax rate by 1.25 cents and increase amount of local tax revenue that stays in the community

We are excited to officially kick off the program this year, which will streamline services including transportation and cafeteria meal transactions as well as coordinate campus dismissal preferences electronically with parents of elementary students.

EE 4th graders write their first pieces of the year entitled "The Best Part of Me" where they explain what part of their body is their favorite and why.  This student chose his hands to highlight as the best part of his body!

EE Mustangs Give Back!  EE PTO organized efforts to support evacuees to the Austin area after Mayor Adler called for welcome kits for evacuees in Central Texas.

Kindergarteners began sharing their writing pieces during writers' workshop.  There have been a lot of proud writers across campus this week!
