District, All Nine Schools Top State & National Rankings

Eanes ISD and all nine schools nabbed top state and national rankings by research site Niche, including the District capturing the number one spot in the state for the second consecutive year, and moving up to the number two spot nationally from 21 in 2014. West Ridge Middle School ranked third in the state and 14 nationally, while Westlake High School, Hill Country Middle School and Barton Creek Elementary were named fourth in the state in their respective categories. Westlake came in at 39 nationally, number 14 in the nation for four-year comprehensive public high schools.

All six elementary schools were named in the top 11 around the state, and all six in the top 85 nationally.

On the national level, Westlake was the only comprehensive four-year Texas public school in the top 60. When compared to historically high-ranking high schools around the state, Westlake rose above Highland Park (61), Westwood (99), and Lake Travis (349). The Liberal Arts & Science Academy (LASA), which is an admission-based magnet high school, ranked 10th in the nation.

Eanes ISD also ranked number one in the state for Best Places to Teach, College Readiness, and Best Facilities. Nationally, Eanes ISD ranked number one in Best Facilities, fourth in Best Academics and 13th in College Readiness.

Niche describes its methodology as using data sources that go beyond state assessment scores and factor in student culture and diversity, educational outcomes, health and safety, and student reviews. The areas examined at the high school level include:
